{children} nathan & chase

Filed under: portrait — julie @ 9:05 pm

I know I have said this a gazilllllion times, but I just LOVE my clients, and LOVE watching their little ones grow from babies, to toddlers, to big kids!  Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with a true and loyal client, Kristin, to photograph her handsome little boys!  We had a great time, and Nathan was mesmerized by the trains and the “little” things…so cute to see them in awe of things we take for granted.

I am so excited to share these images from our shoot today.  The weather was perfect, and everything just seemed to fall into place (love days like this…)

{newborn} meet baby lauren

Filed under: portrait — julie @ 10:26 am

I was so excited to meet up with Jodi, one of my past wedding clients, and now have been documenting their beautiful family for the past couple of years.  It is so much fun to watch  couples grow into families!  Jodi was meant to have babies….easy pregnancies, quick labor and delivery…and beautiful babies!

Meet the newest bundle of beauty…Lauren.  She was so sweet and patient with me for this shoot.  And Jodi was so easy going.  I was kind of being a baby hog…getting my fix. See, that’s why I love my job:  I  get my newborn fix but don’t have to do the 3am feedings!  PERFECT!

{casting call} Children ages 4-8

Filed under: business — julie @ 11:53 am

I am so excited to announce my first ever casting call for children between the ages of 4-8.  As some of you may know, I am part of an amazing photography workshop called “Get tha Funk Out” in which we (4 fab & funky photogs) are holding (check out our site here).  In this workshop, we are holding a live photo shoot for our attendees.  We are recruiting young children, high school seniors, a family, and an engaged couple.  I am in charge of recruiting the darling children!

wyatt-47

I KNOW there will be so many cuties to choose from, but here are some general characteristics I am looking for:

  • outgoing
  • loves attention (aka being in front of the camera)
  • be able to last about an hour for the shoot
  • able to travel with mom and/or dad down to Newport Beach on Saturday, September 12 by 5pm
  • ok with being photographed by 5 photogs simultaneously (a little paparazzi-ish, i guess)

Here’s what the parents get:

  • High res digital files of their darling child
  • Free photo shoot with some amazing and REALLY fun photographers!
  • 30% off any products ordered.

If you think your little cutie has what it takes, please feel free to leave a comment with your email, or you can email me at julie@julieweaverphotography.com

I will be considering 2-3 children for this live shoot.

Thanks!  Have a great weekend!

{personal} Katie’s Soccer Tournament

Filed under: personal — julie @ 7:41 pm

As I thought about what I was going to blog about today, I immediately asked my husband to help me come up with something brilliant and fresh.  My son overheard our conversation and quickly said, “Mom, blog about Camarillo”…Aron and I looked at each other and just started laughing!

See, my son Cole is only 8 years old.  In his mind, this is exciting and definitely blog-worthy!  He has been counting the days until our little trip with our soccer team.  What’s better than jumping on hotel beds and swimming in a pool with all of your friends?  Eating out all weekend and having a free-spirit?  We are even pulling them out of school early to make the most of our get-a-way!

This is a BIG deal to our children….they don’t know that Camarillo is just another town with another soccer field to live at for 3 days straight (and might I mention, in the heat….) They know that it’s a time when they will have mom and dad’s undivided attention to support their love of soccer and to be with each other, having fun.  Although I’d rather be with them sipping cold margaritas  in Cabo or even better, sipping red wine in Italy (A girl can dream)… well, it just doesn’t matter to them!  What matters to them is just plain old “hanging out”….and that’s what I will be doing this weekend with them!

Tomorrow our family will be heading out to Camarillo to watch our daughter, Katie, perform in her Select soccer tournament.  This soccer team has become an extention of our family, and we feel so blessed to have such an amazing group of girls and their parents.

So, take a look at your beautiful family tonight and be reminded of the “little” things that mean so much!

Go Claremont United!!!

{High School Senior Photography} Jacob: Part 1

Filed under: seniors — julie @ 4:16 pm

I had the pleasure of photographing part one of Jacob’s high school senior pictures last week!  Jacob is quite the student and athlete.  So much that we have to break our session into 2 separate parts.  See, Jacob plays football and basketball for his school as well as being president of Webb’s Surf Club!  How cool is that?  Jacob also volunteers his time is a couple different organizations and is quite an impressive young man!  I also had the pleasure of meeting his mother and sister and had so much fun getting to know them all!  I look forward to our surf session in Malibu!
Now, THAT will be an awesome shoot!

Until then, here are a few really great shots of Jacob which I believe really begin to describe the great kid he really is!
